And there's more...

Our property is a typical, french three bedroom house, mainly on the upper level with a spirral staircase to the kitchen diner and sous sol, it has two double bedrooms with two single beds in the third bedroom .  It has everything you will need for an enjoyable stay, it is comfortable, relaxing and unpretentious.

We hope that the weather is kind and that you spend your stay outside, eating and drinking alfresco, with large gas and charcoal BBQs for your use.  Villefagnan has more than its fair share of sunshine where the temperature can top 40C in the height of the season.

The property situated in two acres, so there is plenty of room to stroll or find a variety of quiet spots to sit and relax, don't forget your favourite book and perhaps a glass of wine.  The outer perimeter of our land is perfect for a stroll or for the fit, a jog to help you keep trim.  We do ask you to keep to the paths and tracks as we are trying to preserve the long grass.  We hope that you, like us, feel that one or two weeks never seems enough and you will want to return.

Holiday in Villefagnan...

If it was possible to tire of your surroundings or you fancied a change of pace, there are a multitude of places and attractions to visit.  FUTUROSCOPE in Poitiers is for all the family and will take all day to live the experience.  La Rochelle is a historical port and beach resort with something for everyone.  Talking of the coast, there are miles of beaches to visit and enjoy, just drive and explore, each one has its own special appeal.  But France has many inland beaches, with clean sand and fresh water lakes, one only ten minutes walk along the road from our property, its continually topped up by three springs and never runs dry.  At ROMAGNE there is a monkey reserve, where you can walk in the beautiful grounds, a valley especially created for the monkeys and apes to live and to allow you to walk among them.

The Charente is a delight to explore, with sunflowers* and vines galore.  There are markets with the freshest of produce, straight off the farms or brought across the border from Spain.  Fresh fish is plentiful as the coast is just a short drive away, the french love their fish and demand both quality and variety.   Of course famous of all, is the french bread, which is an essential part of any meal.

Cognac is part of the Charente and a visit to the town of Cognac is a must, with a tour of the many distilleries along with free tastings.  Bordeaux is for your wine, put all these together and you have meal made in heaven.
